This is Kibera, (meaning forest or jungle) in the Nairobi neighborhood of Kenya. It is the largest slum in Africa where essential services are considered as luxury.
The picture tells the story of a people who live daily at the margins of economic and financial injustice. 然而，他们找到了活下去的希望. Their experiences expose the fault lines of economic inequities and the reality of the social divide in the society where I live. Their lives and daily experiences challenge my sense of social justice and make a caricature of our hope for a better humanity.
